올덴버그는 일관성 있게 모순의 관념을 포용하여 일상 생활의 평범한 물건들을
활기 있는 오브제로 변형시킵니다. 그의 작품에서 딱딱한 것은 부드러워지고 작은
것은 거대해지며 부드러운 달력 처럼 평면은 입체가 됩니다. 올덴버그의 속을 채운 직물 조각은 그의 행위예술의 소품으로서 1962년에 시작되어 독립적인 작품으로 진화하였습니다.부드러운 달력에 등장하는 거대한 숫자는 모가 나지 않고 둥글며 베개와 같은 형상으로
중첩되게 배치되어 양감이 강조됩니다. 올덴버그는 캔버스에 숫자 형태를 고정한 후 조각의 표면을 채색하였는데, 일요일은 선명한 적색으로 강조했으며 다른 요일은 광택 있는 백색 에나멜을 칠하였습니다.
