渡辺淳弥は自分のブランドの2000–2001年秋冬コレクションを《テクノクチュール》と命名しました。新開発の生地、明らかに手の込んだ仕立て、そして計算された技法による、巨大な蜂の巣状のひだ襟のあるこのアンサンブルでは、職人技と実験的な要素を融合させています。独立したひだ襟は、小さく輪の長方形に折り畳んで封筒に入れて保管することができます。裾にフレアのある袖なしのシースドレスは、ウエストとヒップラインで斜めに寄るように裁断されており、まるで誤ってねじれてしまったかのように仕立てられています。デザインに組み込まれているこの意図的な「不完全さ」は、デザイナーの破壊的な美の理想を表明しています。
