Ninth plate of album with 60 19th-century costume plates and 1 drawing of mostly women's historical costumes, featuring a variety of designs for traditional costumes from different parts of the world, as well as costumes for literary characters, including Esmeralda. This plate consists of a woman wearing a costume for a "Merchant of Pleasures", made up of a cream shirt with short, puffy sleeves under a red velvet vest, and a calf-length skirt with vertical cream and blue stripes, with white lace on the border. A light blue apron hangs under the vest, and a tan, small satchel hangs over her leg, tied around her hips. She wears a yellow hat, tied around her face with blue ribbons, and another piece of blue ribbon is tied around her neck, holding a gold cross pendant. She wears gold hanging earrings, and red eyeshadows and rouge. She holds a blue, red and yellow cylinder in her hand, which looks like some type of clock. Her legs are covered by light blue stockings, and her shoes are cream with bows.
