Terracotta kantharos (drinking cup with high handles)
This elegant kantharos, a wine-drinking cup, has fine vertical handles underlined by a sculpted leaf at their base, and attached to the cup interior by a female head in relief. A female white head emerging from blossom surrounded by tendrils and flowers is painted on one side. The other side is decorated with a woman carrying a basket. The vase belongs to the contents of a tomb found in Canosa in 1895.
