불의 집
빌보드 광고 화가로 교육받은 로젠퀴스트는 팝 아티스트로서1960년대에 대담한 구도의 대작을 제작하기 시작하였습니다. 불의 집은 당시 그의 작품의 특징인 역동감과 관능적인 품위를 명확히 나타내고 있습니다. 이 우화적인 세 폭짜리 회화에서 일상 생활의 평범한 물건들은 기묘하게 느껴집니다. 식료품 봉투는 불가사의하게 공중에 매달려 있고 초자연적인 광선을 발산하는 용광로는 창을 지나 실내로 내려오고 있으며 다수의 진홍색 립스틱은 총처럼 배열되어 있습니다. 이 작품에 나타난 폭력, 섹스, 소비지상주의에 대한 암시는 그가 1965년에 제작한 기념비적인 작품인 F-111과 같은 초기 작품과 관련됩니다.
