This work of art is currently on loan to the museum.

Although nasal helmets (a type that covers the top of the head, with a bar extending down from the brow to protect the nose) were widely used in medieval Europe, this is one of only a handful that survive today. This example is also distinguished by the remains of intricate interlace designs delicately inlaid in silver wire that form a Christian cross on its brow and nasal.
