The Butcher Shop
Mexiac created teaching material for the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples and illustrations for the newspaper of the Confederation of Workers of Mexico. This print might have been made for one of these outlets. His depictions of working-class occupations were greatly influenced by prints made at the Taller de Gráfica Popular in Mexico City. He joined the workshop in 1950, where he probably created this print.
