Family portrait with one boy and father in Kente cloth

1975
Not on view
Untrimmed black and white photograph (printed by Jerry L. Thompson in 1975, NY.) The subject is a seated group of man, woman, and young child. The man wears a common buttoned chemise overlaid with a dark, horizontally-striped prestige cloth. The woman sports a head wrap, a simple blouse and a patterned skirt while the child wears a casual white cotton sleeveless shirt. The group sits in chairs in an outdoor setting, evidenced by the exterior of a building in the background. The image is tightly cropped around the group and is taken from an angle slightly above their heads.
