Pitcher
Elaborate gilded flowers and scrolling foliage enrich this pitcher's purplish red ground and attest to the skilled china painters employed by the Boston Decorating Company, founded by Levi Cooley in 1860. The name Swasey, which appears in decorative letters on either side, most likely identifies the owner of the piece.
