We Reject War

Publisher Probably Taller de Gráfica Popular, Mexico City Mexican
1959
Not on view
Mora joined the Taller de Gráfica Popular in Mexico City in 1941 and remained a member until 1965. He probably created this print at the workshop, where he was encouraged to produce art that focused on social justice. In the print, Mora widened his lens to assert a universal message, depicting a couple and their child expressing his own antipathy to war. The subject of the print is known through an inscription on the back of this sheet. The man and woman possibly represent Mora and Elizabeth Catlett who married in 1947.
