This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.Shahn was commissioned to create advertisements for the Resettlement Administration, a government agency that relocated impoverished people living in rural areas decimated during the Dust Bowl—a period of severe dust storms caused by drought and poor land management, exacerbated by the Depression.
