Love (Pyramid)
Maren Hassinger, who was trained in dance before studying fiber arts at UCLA, often incorporates performance in her sculptural work. Each of the hundreds of pink plastic bags that comprise her exuberant installation Love (Pyramid) contains a one-word "love" note. Part of a series of accumulations of bagged human breath arranged in different shapes, the pyramidal form of this work adds an evanescent memorial dimension.
