Tea Table
While there are individual characteristics on this table not found on any other known example, an attribution to northern Massachusetts or southern New Hampshire may be hazarded on the basis of the skirt treatment. The double ogee-arched scalloping has its closest parallel in a group of William and Mary tavern tables which have been associated with Essex County, Massachusetts, and Rockingham County, New Hampshire. The small central arch flanked by serpentine curves also appears on some New England high chests and dressing tables.
