Elliott Erwitt’s original notebook from the 1950s is filled with lively, often humorous pairings of photographs made in Italy, France, New Orleans, and New York. He constructed this unpublished book maquette just after he returned from Europe as a U.S. army photographer. The selection on view here features diners at an Automat cafeteria and a parade on Fifth Avenue.
