Cycle 2, Version 3
Returned to lender
This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.“This series is based on the form of stomach intestines. I was first interested in human organs for their anonymity in terms of overt meaning. To me they are abstract shapes that had open possibilities for interpretation. All these things I had thought about began to make some sense—at least enough for me to trust that they make sense as sculptures. Through the years, I made several versions, big and small, of this piece. It continues to be an important work for me.”
