Shelf Clock
This clock stands apart form David Wood's other shelf clocks in having a silvered dial and a case decorated with three-dimensional architectural motifs rather than with inlaid ornament. Stylistically, the clock appears to be one of Wood's earliest. Its distinctive type of case is known in a number of other examples with movements by David Wood, Daniel Balch, Jr. of Newburyport, and William Fitz of Portsmouth.
