This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.Osman Khan’s nephew, brought to France as part of the Mysore embassy, is dressed relatively simply. With no needlework decoration, sword belt, or full beard (only the hint of a mustache), his is a youthful portrait compared with his uncle’s.
