Quiver
Returned to lender
This work of art was on loan to the museum and has since been returned to its lender.Louis XV received this quiver and other luxury weaponry following Mehmed Said Efendi’s 1742 embassy. Most imposing among the Ottoman gifts was a multiroom tent of Persian gold cloth. Although the large tent was put in storage, the gem-encrusted arms were displayed in the Royal Treasury. Many of these precious objects were sold after the Revolution.
