The number inscribed on the base of this bowl refers to the pattern registered with the Public Record Office in London. Records there indicate that "Design No. 58375 was registered by Thomas Webb and Sons of Dennis Glass Works, Stourbridge, on 8 October 1886 and relates to a design to be applied to 'A diaper of irregular lines forming a watery or wavy pattern upon the surface of the glass.'"
