Girl by a Window
Henriette Darricarrère, a dancer and musician in Nice, posed for Matisse from 1920 until her marriage seven years later. He painted several versions of this composition, in which Henriette stands beside his hotel window, looking out towards the promenade des Anglais and the baie des Anges.
