The shape of an overstuffed armchair suggests comfort, but its use of steel for the construction of this chair suggests a sense of solidity and strength in direct contrast to its shape. The chair is made from a single piece of sheet metal which is cut and pressed into its bulging form of convex and concave contours. The architect Ron Arad who has designed furniture and products through his studio, One-Off, in London, established his own practice as an alternative to the design establishment of the 1970s.
