"Sam Seals His Pact with Sindukht", Folio 85v from the Shahnama (Book of Kings) of Shah Tahmasp
Although Sam is still ignorant of Sindukht's identity, he asks her probing questions about herself and Rudaba. She refuses to answer until Sam has promised to ensure her safety and that of her family, no matter what happens to Kabul. He takes her hand to seal the vow, and she tells him her true identity.
