Covered urn with geometric decoration
As Buddhism’s popularity rose in the Silla kingdom, cremation became the standard funerary practice, displacing earlier elaborate burial rites. This urn, with a stamped design of flowers and geometric patterns, is typical of Korean stoneware containers for ashes from the eighth century.
