Thomas Prince, A. M.
The subject of this print attended Harvard, then visited Barbados and England before becoming the minister of Boston’s Old South Church in 1718. An avid book collector and antiquarian, Prince favored religious toleration. The engraver, Pelham, moved to Boston from London about 1725–26, and based this mezzotint on a portrait by Greenwood now at the Massachusetts Historical Society.
