Man in seventeenth-century dress holding a scroll: With every Good Wish from M. G. and E. A. Abbey for 1911
Abbey decorated this New Year's card with a man wearing seventeenth-century dress and holding a scroll. The latter is lettered with the initials of the artist and his wife Mary Gertrude. Sadly, Abbey died the following August, after an unexpected illness, at age fifty-nine.
