2 illustrated title pages, 12 pages of text surrounded by decorative borders, and 56 pages of designs.
The first title appears on leaf 4 a as title to the "Dialogue" in other copies, according to Lotz. This copy lacks the second leaf of dedication (supplied). The first title has been restored on right side. Note "et excudit" is missing after fecit. and photostat of title of 1602 edition. According to Lotz there were five editions of this second Sibmacher book. The first appeared in 1601, the second in 1602 with same contents. Facsimile of this ed. in MMA library 156.11 Si 1. Pls. 1-37 embroidery (Note "spitzen" on pl. 34 which Lotz says doesn't mean lace, but a cheap imitation made by embroidery). Pls. 38-55, cut-linen and reticella; pls. 56-58 gold-embroidery. 67 leaves, plates numbered 1 - 58. (should have 68 leaves). Sigs: A, AA-Z, ZZ, A - E 2. Note: Letter dated 16 April 1896 from Molini and Green (booksellers London) asking if they should bid on this volume for Edward Arnold tipped in at back. In white vellum covers.
