Marble statuette of Aphrodite Anadyomene (rising)
This Aphrodite’s arms were originally in a pose very similar to that of the statue of the goddess displayed nearby. Here, the stance is reversed; most of the figure’s weight is on the right leg instead of the left. Such statuettes were popular decorations in villa gardens.
