Alexandre Dumas fils (1824–1895)
This portrait medallion of Alexander Dumas fils (1824–1895) has much finer detailing, particularly in hair and ornament, than a related version that entered the Museum’s collection in 1909 (09.190). The Met has four other portrait medallions by French medalist Jean-Désiré Ringel d’Illzach.
