Armchair
The strong linear quality of this chair shows the influence of Frank Lloyd Wright's best designs for Prairie School furniture. A colleague of Wright's, Maher designed this chair for Rockledge, a large and elaborate summer bungalow for the E. L. King family in Homer, Minnesota; he designed the house in 1914. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, owns a smaller version of this chair with rockers.
