Armchair
Like much New York furniture, this armchair follows English precedents in having a low back and tapering rear legs that end in oval spade feet. It descended in the family of Samuel and Judith Verplanck, whose complete parlor furnishings are displayed in the Verplanck Room (gallery 718).
