Suit
This suit was worn by Arthur W. Clement (1878-1952), attorney and longtime trustee of the Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences, now the Brooklyn Museum. At the time he wore this suit, he was 25 years old, a recent graduate of the New York Law School and a young associate at the law firm of Cravath & Henderson. The frock coat had nearly reached the end of its fashionable life by 1903, replaced by the morning suit for business or the lounge suit for less formal occasions.
