Evening coat
A sense of volume is used to give this evening coat the look of grandeur and importance, which were hallmarks of the Belle Époque. The huge sleeves with their gauntlet cuffs are an outstanding feature. The coat was probably made in France for B. Altman & Co., which was one of the grand department stores of the period.
