Evening dress

Designer Bergdorf Goodman American
ca. 1935
Not on view
The high end luxury store, Bergdorf Goodman, opened its doors in 1899. By 1928, the store had moved from its Union Square location to uptown, on 5th Avenue, taking over the former Cornelius Vanderbilt mansion. The exclusive offerings, such as fur, perfume and the Miss Bergdorf ready-to-wear line made the store a destination for wealthy, fashion conscious individuals. This dress is an excellent example of the store's refined selection. Extremely feminine, the dress is visually appealing, due the color scheme and the print.
