Pitcher
This pitcher was presumably part of a larger set intended for use in a hotel. The detailed building illustrated on both sides is most likely the Fifth Avenue Hotel, built under the supervision of Amos R. Eno and completed in 1858. Located on Fifth Avenue between Twenty-third and Twenty-fourth Streets, the hotel played an active role in social and political life in the second half of the nineteenth century.
