Plate
The fish and iris design on this plate indicate the prevailing interest in Japanese prints during the early 1880s. Though unsigned, the plate's similarity in subject matter and painting style relate closely to signed work by Maria Longworth Nichols. This piece may have come from the first kiln of the Rookwood Pottery.
