Chest
This chest is one of the most satisfying of late-eighteenth-century New England serpentine front chests. Its design is taut, linear, and self-contained. It perfectly combines Rococo form and Neoclassical ornament, capturing that time when one style was giving way to the other. The woods are finely figured and have good rich color.
