Frame
Jacobson and Le Brocq made frames for many American artists who rejected ornate floral frames. This frame is derived from a seventeenth century Dutch crossetted-corner design. According to the inscription, the firm may have made this frame for Childe Hassam, though a picture of "Winter Midnight" has not yet been located.
