In Mischief
This atypical work by Shirlaw is entitled "In Mischief" because the female figure depicted admonishes a cat reclining on her shawl. There is a London canvas stamp on the reverse, and according to the donor and student of the artist, Katherine S. Dreier (1877–1952), the picture was painted in London.
